A Message From Deborah:

When your child or teen is struggling emotionally, it can be hard to know how to help. You may notice anxiety, emotional outbursts, withdrawal, school stress, low self esteem, conflict at home, or a child who just does not seem like themselves anymore. As a parent, it can feel overwhelming trying to support them while also carrying your own worry and uncertainty underneath it all.

With over 20 years of experience in mental health, including extensive work with youth and families, I provide a calm, supportive, and non judgmental space where people can slow things down, feel heard, and begin making sense of what is happening beneath the surface. Throughout my career, I have worked across hospital, community mental health, and specialized youth mental health settings, as well as in clinical leadership roles.

I work with youth (12+), adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, parenting challenges, relationship stress, family conflict, life transitions, and communication difficulties. I have a special interest in supporting teens and parents through emotionally difficult seasons and helping families move out of patterns of tension, disconnection, and conflict.

I also work extensively with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), helping partners better understand the emotional and attachment patterns underneath cycles of conflict, hurt, and disconnection.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in emotional safety, connection, and curiosity about each person’s experience. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT), Attachment Based Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), tailoring therapy to the unique needs of each individual, couple, or family.

I believe healing begins when people feel truly understood, supported, and safe enough to open up honestly. It would be an honour to walk alongside you through that process.
