What to Expect During Attachment-Informed Therapy

Your counsellor will help you to explore the relationship between your earlier attachments and your present feelings and actions. By gaining an understanding of how your childhood wounds shape your present ability to form healthy relationships, you can begin to unlearn, relearn, and develop new ways of seeing the world.

Your counsellor will help you on this journey by modelling secure attachment through the therapeutic relationship. The bond you share with your counsellor will help you to discover any unresolved feelings and thought patterns that are a result of early attachment problems.

This increases self-awareness and builds an understanding of how childhood wounds are reenacted in our current relationships.

Conditions Attachment-Informed Therapy Can Help With
