A Message From Alison:

I am a registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist and received my Bachelor of Social Work from York University and my Masters of Social Work from the University of Calgary. I have worked in the field of mental health for over 17 years and love it!

I believe that the relationship with your therapist is essential to making change and improving your mental health and wellness. I believe that my compassion and empathy provide a safe and nurturing place for you to improve your coping skills and overall wellness.

I use a variety of therapeutic modalities and humour in my sessions, completely depending on what works best for you! I have extensive experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness Based Therapy and DBT Skills.

I would like to help you improve your depression, anxiety, or OCD symptoms; build your self confidence, and help you be the best version of yourself! I have extensive experience and training in Eating Disorder Treatment, working with children and adolescents, parenting skills for difficult behaviours, communication, and building healthy relationships.

We all can have moments of feeling confidence, in ourselves and about our lives, and we all will have moments of doubt, worry and regret. This is a path we have all walked and knowing that others can understand this journey, can be a big part of healing and personal reflection. As a wife, mother of two, and counsellor, I know the feeling of being spread thin, and sometimes feeling like you are not successful in any of those roles.

Reaching out for help is a scary step and one not to be taken lightly. When you are seeking help for your child, you want to know you can trust the person you are working with to respect your boundaries and hopes as a parent; and that they truly understand your experience.

I look forward to working with you and sharing in your life journey!
